# Bolt

> Bolt is an open-source AnyKernel ZIP flasher for rooted Android devices. Its Cockpit brings installation, recovery bundles and readable installer logs together. APKs are distributed through GitHub releases.

The website shows an upcoming Cockpit release preview, captured on an emulator with sample recovery files and provider logs. The published Bolt_v1.01.0 APK predates this interface. The latest-release page is the authority for currently downloadable APKs and their release notes.

Android 7.0 or newer, working root access and a compatible AnyKernel ZIP are required. Installer completion, a detected restart and user-reported kernel health are separate observations. Automatic recovery snapshots do not guarantee rollback of every change an installer can make. Raw-image flashing and KernelSU LKM installation are future work.
